Should I keep my puppy in a pen or if I put in a drawer??

Ok I have a Highland White Terrier. when I go to school 2 (8-3) My mother sleeps (9-2) so that the puppy will be alone (this is his schedule on Monday Evry. The other days will be completely supervised) So I should put it in a box that has all his stuff and I can not get out. Or should I put in a dog pen where there is a small possibility you can go, but Wil Pen have much room to move and wil have a lot of things there. OK, so eg. if I have the box goes to sleep in the cage at night (in the same room I) or if I get the pen to go to sleep in the pen (with a bed min) in the same room with me. Please help me, I'm considering buying a box, but I just I wanted to be sure. Oh, and when he returns from school (15:00) I will take it out for the rest of the day and you willl go to bed around 9, 30. Please help me!

I suggest that the corner of the kitchen with a baby gate is high enough for him not to jump over. Westies have springs for legs, as soon learn! This will give you room to move and play a bit.
